New "Frozen" Projects Are Here!

Good afternoon! We hope everyone is having a fantastic day! It's been quite hot here, which makes wanting to do anything kind of rough. However, we've been fighting the urge to be lazy and have completed some "Frozen"-inspired projects, as promised!
These newly-listed Etsy items are just the first few pieces in this new collection.
The first two projects are an invitation and a printed thank you note. When you remove the invitation from its folder, everyone's favorite snowman comes out:
Of course we added some glitter (what princess doesn't love glitter?!) and pop-dotted some of the accents, including the snowflake on the thank you note:
How adorable is this set?! We have a few more projects coming in the next few days, including some banners and decorations. (The banners will be up once they're put together- apparently our missing hole punch is actually at home, and yes, Mom, it will be easier to get a new one instead of cleaning!)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

A Spring-y Hello

Good morning! We hope everyone has had a wonderful week. Fortunately, this week just seemed to fly by. Maybe because the weather has been amazing and the distractions were quite numerous (not complaining too much...It'll give us something to work on this weekend.) Anyway, a little while back, we were pleasently surprised with a package in our mailbox from our aunt. The lady is quite the talent with a sewing machine and she made us some super cute placemats:
They match our kitchen decor perfectly!! And the two little (early!) birds are so springy, too! So, as a thank-you, this is the card we made:
Unfortunately, the colors are not quite right. We wanted it to be bright and cheerful, so we used bright pink and and green, with some floral and sparkle papers. We've included some pink rhinestones, as well. The inside didn't photgraph too well, but it is accented with some of the cute printed paper, also.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Monsters Galore!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday! But if you're having a case of the Mondays, this will definitely cheer you up! We have a fantastic Monsters, Inc party set-up to share with you.

Even though no one we know is having a birthday party any time soon, and definitely not a Monsters, Inc one, it was super fun to make. The first part is a banner wishing the birthday kid a "Happy Boo-Day," and is surrounded by a cutout garland.

Next up is some door and/or wall decor. We made a wreath with Mike, Sulley, and Boo. Along with it, is a door hanger with the birthday kid's name and age.

Next up are the cards for the party. The invitation measures 5x7 with all of the party information. There is also a thank you note for after the fun, both with cutouts with the main characters.
Finally, we have a favor bag. This might be my favorite part of all. It is a flip down bag, or could be made with ribbon or string to tie it shut, and is modeled after Boo's door. We made a birthday card that looked like this, but it sure makes one really cool bag.

 Thanks for stopping by!

A Note of Thanks

Happy Friday! We hope everyone has had a good week and now looking forward to the weekend. Let's just say, Friday couldn't come soon enough this week.
So, the other day we received a note in our mailbox, saying we had a package waiting for us up in the office. We had no idea who it was from, so we kind of let it sit up there for a few days (and because we don't head up that way too often.) Anyway, we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the package and got an awesome scarf from our aunt:
The other is in shades of blue- she knows us so well! Between the two of us, we got so many compliments on them. We love them and wish we knew how to do it. (Can't say we weren't trying to figure it out!) Today's project is a thank you card we made for her:
She is an avid (and amazing) sewer and knitter, so we decided to make her card with a quilt design. We chose the colors because they were bright and cheery. We also added some embossing to make it look a bit more quilted and finished off with some stitching around the two main pieces. I hope she likes it!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the weekend!

Christmas Thank You Cards

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Why is it that these two days go by so much quicker than any other two-day combination during the week?! Oh well. Here are our "thank you cards" for Christmas. I know, I know. A little late, but late is better than never, right? We used the card sketch from this SOUS sketch. We didn't add quite as many details as the sketch has since they need to be sent out.

I love this collection of paper (Jolly Holidays from Michaels) because it's Christmas-y, but it doesn't have the normal Christmas colors. The bright colors really make it pop.

Now we have to go watch the Seahawks take on the Redskins. Go Seattle!

Don't forget about our Kards for Kiddos project.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Thank You and Christmas Card

I hope everyone is enjoying their three-day weekend. Today we have two projects to share with you. The first one is a card for all those we can thank for this long weekend. In honor of Veterans' Day, we have this "Land of the Free" card. The inside says "Because of the Brave." We would like to say thank you to all of the men and women and their families who make so many sacrifices everyday.

So here's our humble thank you to all of you, past, present, and future.

And for today's second project. As promised, we are starting our Christmas projects this week! We know some of you might think it's early, but it's never a bad idea to get a jump start on the holidays, because then you realize that the time just flies and before you know it, it's December, and then Christmas, and then a new year. Crazy... OK, enough rambling. This week's theme is Gingerbread! We decided to start out the week with a card:

How cute is that?! Gingerbread people (not so much the cookies...) are one of our favorite things about the holiday. They're just so much fun to decorate and they're so cute! The word "Christmas" is cut out of the cardstock, so you can see through to the inside of the card. As long as everything goes right, cards like this are so much fun to make! Here is a close-up of the gingerbread people:
Their "piping" is actually puffy fabric paint. Now, if only our real cookies could look so good (except for his slightly-crooked smile). It might be a little hard to tell, but the design in the middle of the boy and girl is a wreath. They are also layered, so they pop out of the card a bit.
Thank you for stopping by! We'll have another fun gingerbread project tomorrow!

You Arrr So Sweet!

Ahoy, matey! So for those o' you who don't know, today be "Talk Like a Pirate Day." (Don't worry, I didn't know until I was perusin' the good ol' internet...) They have a website and everythin'! Here's t' link. So in keepin' with this week's theme, we have a pirate cupcake card t' share with you!

Me thinks this would be a perfect thank you card for a pirate-themed birthday. We made both a lad and a lass pirate, since pirates don't really discriminate, as long as thar's enough rum t' go around!
Now go out thar and talk like a pirate! Thanks for stoppin' by!

Another Card

Welcome to another Monday! As I've been bragging, it's another gorgeous day here. You're all probably sick of hearing that, but that's how we felt when it was 70 at home and only 50 here, and we had to listen to you about how nice it was everyday. Today has been a very productive day- our cars can now blend in with the other cars in parking lot! Another step closer to being full-fledged residents here. Anyway, here is today's project. It is a thank you card we made. It is up there on my list of favorites! It was simple to make, yet it looks classy (I think). It is a scalloped card that stands up nicely. I was a little worried that it would just fall down, but it didn't. The flower is hand-made, which you can tell on one of the layers. But I love how it came out and is probably going to be my go-to thank you card!

Enjoy!

Two Cards, One Layout

Yesterday’s Answer: The elf-abet!

Today’s projects are two easy cards. They actually have (just about) the same layout, but have very different looks to them. One of them is a birthday card for a friend of our mom, and the other is a thank you card for an early Christmas present. The birthday card has a small, matching cupcake on the front. Sounds kind of silly, but I’m really happy with how the bow came out- it was the first one I made “correctly”! After that, I had to make some more of them, and luckily we had another reason to. The gingerbread card is the thank-you. I based my colors off the background paper, and after a bit of effort, I finally came up with paper patterns that I liked, and could work with.  The gift was a Christmas ornament from our Aunt. It went right up on our kitchen wreath!

Today’s Joke: What do vampires put on their Christmas roast?

Thank You's

First of all, we would like to thank everyone for reading our blog. I know that you all had better things to do, and not all of our days were exciting. So, thanks for following us! Hope you enjoyed it. I know we did!! But, it's nice to be home (for a little bit, at least).

Anyway, we have been spending the last few days crafting and catching up on some projects. We have a ton on our list of things to do, but we may finish everything this year, for once! Today's post is a picture of our thank you cards. I think they're mighty cute, and appropriate!

I guess it's a good excuse to re-use those old maps! Thanks again to everyone!!

Thank You Cards

A few weeks ago, our mom's friend asked us to make a cake for a baby shower. The cake was adorable and everyone loved it. Anyway, in 'payment' for our work (and I use the term 'work' loosely), we were given gift cards. And since it's what we do, we made a 'thank you' card for her. Personally, I love this card, (except for the smudging that I had to do in photoshop). I think it's so cute, and appropriate. The first two pictures are from the front and the third is the inside. I love the little sheep and her flower!

Hopefully we'll be able to complete some more projects this weekend. We have a few invitations and dresses to finish! Although it's official that we can't stand the snow anymore, there are some perks, like having everything cancelled, leaving more time to craft!! :0)

Holiday Thank-You's

Now that the holidays are over, it's time to write the thank-you notes! I will post a few pictures of the cards we made. Something nice and simple- a nice way to relax after the crazy holidays!
*Update- Here is a picture of the two cards. They're both about the same, just different sizes.
