Circle of Memories

This is a card designed based on the inside greeting. The inside reads, “Thanksgiving is a circle of memories”. Each Thanksgiving brings us back to the last year and everything that has happened. So far, this has been a pretty good year, bringing us so many new experiences! It may not end quite like e wanted to, but we’re off to a good start for next year! We made a few different versions of this card. This one has an acorn on it, another has a cornucopia, and the third has a pumpkin. The envelope has a simple "Happy Thanksgiving" greeting stamped on it.

Autumn Tree

Here is another fall card that reflects the trees outside. The leaves may have turned colors and fallen, but sometimes it’s nice to watch the seasons change. But believe me, I’m not trying to hurry through fall. I don’t want to imagine what the winter is going to be like. The inside of the card reads, “Take some time to sit and watch the leaves turn”. The envelope has a rub-on leaf on the flap, to add a little something. The shadows kind of get in the way...

Fall Flourish

Here is another quick Thanksgiving/Fall card we made. The borders are foiled paper, so it adds a nice little shine to the card. The flourish is stamped, and it has some leaves on it. There is a leaf sticker in the middle, to add a bit of color. The stamp is brown, but it’s a little hard to see on the orange background. The inside of the card says “Autumn days are here again”.

Something to Be Grateful For

Today begins our Holiday card postings. Well, continues it, I guess. One thing we are grateful for is our wonderful family. We may get on each others' nerves (a lot and often), without family, you have nothing! Continuing on...Today’s post is actually a card that we made last year. I didn’t realize we didn’t put it up last year. It is a step card. The flowers on the side are inked with gold.

A Birthday Card

So, I guess my “plan” didn’t work out so well. I’ll have to try again. Luckily, with the holidays coming up, we have a ton of projects that we finished and can now post. Today’s isn’t a holiday project, though. We had a few birthdays to celebrate this month, so we made this card. Turns out, it’s an extra! We’ve had the ribbon for a few years and it was just sitting there. It came with a bunch of holiday ribbons, but I don’t really see how it is a holiday one. Oh well, it worked out perfect for this card. It was actually the inspiration for the design. It might be tough to see, but the envelope flap is stamped with a birthday cupcake!

Turning a New Leaf

Over the last few weeks, we have made a stock-pile of cards. My "goal" is to update and add pictures on more of a schedule than we have. And now that the weather has finally decided that it is indeed fall, the next few posts are some of our fall/autumn cards. Here is the first fall card.

When we made this card, I was a little skeptical of the blue in a fall card, like the banner post from a few days ago. I should have figured it would look OK if the blue was already in the fall paper. I think there is just the right amount of sparkle and bright colors to add a nice touch!

Happy Halloween??

I know it's been a little while since we updated the blog, but it's been a crazy week. Actually, it hasn't, since we didn't have power for the last week. On Sunday, the day before Halloween, the crazy fall Nor'easter came and knocked out power. This is how it looked when it first started:
It doesn't look too bad, but at the end we had at least a foot of snow! We wanted to get away from the snow!!  I was getting a little upset with The Weather Channel because they kept sending e-mails every hour and kept increasing the snow totals. Also, unfortunately for them, Mom and Dad had to cut their vacation short, but got home safely. Since all of the power went out, the town officials decided to postpone Halloween, and then they ended up cancelling it, and had "trunk or treat" in the park's parking lot.  We eventually got it back around 12:00 yesterday afternoon and we all went back to how it was before the power went out. I can't complain because there are still a ton of people without power.
This is the last project we were working on before we lost the power. It was supposed to be for Mom's Game Night, but that was cancelled because of the storm. So, we were able to enjoy it, instead!!

This is the first step of the cake. It doesn't look like much. A cornucopia? An elf? Well, its a good thing I had a plan!!

The elf was a good guess, but a little early in the season! It was a witch. I was told it was too friendly, but then added the wart and somehow it made it look a little meaner!!
And, a Happy Belated Birthday to the Twins!!
So, now that we're caught up our posts, we can spend the extra hour catching up with our crafting!!
