A Sunny Christmas Wish!

Hello! We hope everyone is having a fantastic Thursday! Today has been a perfect day to work on projects. Mother Nature must know school is starting soon and started fall. The last few, and next few, are supposed to be rainy. We can't complain though, because we have a ton of work to do, trying to decorate a classroom in time for the first day of school. A new project seems to pop up every few hours. Anyway, I took some time out to create this card. It's a super cute southern Christmas card:
How cute is he?! It looks like Santa has been having a relaxing summer vacation, too, before getting back to work! I guess he didn't use very much of his SPF 50 suntan lotion...
This is a closer view of him. I kind of went pop-dot happy on a few of the pieces, as you can see the shadow around him. There is also some added glitter in a few spots to add another fun touch! The last picture is the inside of the card. The only fitting sentiment we could agree on was "May your Christmas be Warm and Bright":
And we added one more touch with the holiday-inspired beach ball on the inside.
We are entering this card into a few challenges. We used a variety of cartridges, including both paper doll ones and Doodlecharms.

Buzzing By!

Happy Friday, everyone! We hope you are having a wonderful week so far. I don't know about anyone else, but we're definitely looking forward to the weekend. I think we need some time recuperating from our guests. Not that they were tiring, but the trip to the airport, at 4:00 in the morning, sure was. We did learn one thing, though. The best time to travel on I-5N is any time before 5:00am. We were rather surprised on our way back when the north-bound lane was full of cars.
So, anyway, it seems as if it's been a while since we've had a "crafty" post here. And today was a perfect day to spend crafting. We had a few orders to ship out today, and a few more to finish up. And, it rained for the first time in 35 days. (And who would think, people here forget how to drive in the rain...) Today's project is a little card we put together:
This isn't even remotely close to what I had in mind when I started this card. After taking a much needed nap, we went to Joann's for some envelopes for birthday invitations. However, they are having their Founder's Day sale this week. So naturally, we ended up with more than we went in for. One of our new purchases was the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. (It's been tempting us since it came out). When I started it, it was going to be a Halloween card. And then a banner. And then a hello card with a rosette, but this is what the finished product looks like. And I couldn't bee happier! (get it?! oh so funny...)
OK, so I'll admit that the card did get messed up a bit. Luckily, the light paper lent itself to a quick fix, and now you can't even tell. (Unless you look real close. Or know where it went wrong and just stare at it, thinking that everyone else will notice it too.) These easel cards are fun to make because they look super fancy, but are really quick to make. I had planned on adding some more embellishments to the outside, but figured it would be bulky enough, with the eyes and the pieces popping out:
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend and join us tomorrow for another Cupcake Saturday!

April Fool's Day is...

I can't believe it's already April! Since today is the first, and better known as April Fool's Day, we have a fun little card to share with you.
The card says, "A Good Day to be a Little Goofy," which is a great description for today. All of the cuts are from Mickey & Friends. I hope you didn't get tricked too badly today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ringing in the New Year

Good afternoon! Or, well, it's more evening. We hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. It's hard to imagine that this is the last Sunday in 2012. The year has gone by so fast. So, today's project is another New Year's project. This is a quick card we threw together:
How cute is the little baby?! (Although it looks like the diaper is a little full...) Originally it was supposed to be a black and white card, with a pop of color, so we chose the blue paper. But our sparkled paper didn't match, and what's a New Year's card without some glam? That's where the yellow sparkle came from.
On a side note, this card reminds me of the race we used to run on New Year's morning. Once in a while, there was a guy (an older, bigger fella) who used to dress as the New Year's baby. Enough said.
Thanks for stopping by!

A Sweet Treat, for a Little Witch!

Happy Friday! I know it's been a few days since we've had a new project up, but it's been one of those weeks when all you want to do after work is take a nap. And then fall asleep until 8:00 and decide to just go to bed. We've also been pretty busy with our Etsy shop orders, which is always exciting!!
So, getting on with today's project! After coming up with four or five different ideas (which we'll probably end up posting sometime this week), today's project kind of just came together, and we love how it looks! It is a little witch hat treat container:
How cute is this?! It is actually a cake box from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More. The opening for the box is actually underneath the brim of the hat. It looks small, but it can hold quite a bit of candy and other treats. We were inspired by all the nicely decorated witch hats you can find on-line, with all their flowers and glitz.  We had thought of making a centerpiece, with just a cone shape, but then decided to make the box into a treat container.
These two are close-ups of some of the decorations. I love these flowers! We got the Flower Shoppe cartridge and now everything is going to have flowers on it!! Can't wait!  And of course, the little creepy crawlies that are hanging around, including the bat flying out of the flowers.

We are entering this project into a few challenges:
* Cooking with Cricut- 3D Treats
* Bitten by the Bug2- 3D Halloween Treat Containers
