Another Scrapbook Page

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week! I know we are :) It has been sunny all week, (and into next week too!) It's starting to feel and smell like spring, and then this weekend it's supposed to reach 80 degrees! It's all just so exciting! Anyway, this weekend also happens to be Mother's Day. A day to celebrate the moms in our lives. Today's post is a 2-page scrapbook layout we made to celebrate the day. (Don't worry Mom, it's not your gift. That should be coming on Friday or Saturday. I don't want to give anything away.) It's a very spring-y layout, with the bright pinks and pale green. The two flowers are handmade. I wish I had sparkles to add to them, but the inked edges look nice, too. There is a little journaling pocket, as well.

This is a picture of a flower, zoomed in. The corner flourishes are my favorite part of the layout!
That's all for today! Hope everyone has an enjoyable day!!

Welcome Baby!

Today's  post is a card we made for our cousin and his wife. They welcomed their first son today.
He's the second second-cousin (?) in the family this year. With only three girls fortunate enough to be born in this family, it's time to add some girls!!

A Wedding Invitation

Today's post is a project we did a while ago. One of our really close friends is getting married this summer and today is her wedding shower. Seeing as we are awful bridesmaids and moved on her, we can't attend. Today's project was supposed to be our gift to her, but since we haven't confirmed her receipt of said gift, I don't want to give anything away. However, we were fortunate enough to be asked to design wedding invitations for her. This is what we came up with.

I think they came out great! I hope her guests think so, too! We'll post the pictures of the shower gift once she gets it. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Cupcake Saturday!

Here it is, Saturday morning and Cinco de Mayo, and it's time for another Cupcake Saturday post. Going along with our fiesta theme for this week, we have a Mexican Hot Chocolate cupcake for you. It is a chocolate cupcake with a kick. Using chili powder, we gave these a little spice to them. They are topped with a cream cheese frosting to tone them down a little, but since they still needed some heat, the cupcakes are sprinkled with some more chili powder. They're perfect for tonight's fiesta celebration!

We'll have more pictures up from tonight's fiesta later on!

Fiesta Decor- Part 4

Good morning! I hope everyone is having an excellent week so far. Only one more day till the weekend. Here is today's project:
It's a small scrapbook layout I designed. It's a little different than all of the decorations and such, but now there's a place to put some of the pictures from our fiesta on Saturday. It's a cute little 8x8" page, with space for two pictures. And, it's not a fiesta unless there are some margaritas! The picture holders perform double-duty. Not only are they a place for pictures, but they are also little pockets. I plan on writing some recipes down and putting them in the pockets. So, I guess it's like a cookbook-scrapbook! Maybe I'll do one for the other holidays, too...And the little white square?? It's a spot to do some journaling. Hopefully it will stick out less once I write in it.
That's all for today. Come back tomorrow for some sweet treats!!

Fiesta Decor- Part 3

Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is having a good week so far! After a few days of showers, it looks like it's clear skies here, for a while, at least! Maybe spring will be here any day now! Today's post is a little picture-heavy. It is some of the decorations we've made for our fiesta.
This is a shot of some of the decorations. The pictures below are their close-ups! This first one is of the menu we're planning. If you look closely, you can tell we're big fans of drinks and desserts, but we do get those veggies in!
The next two are of our little centerpiece. It needs a little help, but it looks cute! There are festive-looking flowers. It could use a few more flowers, so maybe I'll add more over the course of the next few days. The two little black things in the middle?? Mustaches! Every party needs some fun favors! And to top it all off, another little banner that says "OLE!". That could have used a little help, too, especially for the first exclamation point...

The one below is a drink charm for our drinks! I know, you're thinking, "There are only two of you, how do you get confused?" The answer is not that we can't tell whose is who's, it's that one (or both) tend to take the glass that's most full. Not that the drink charms will stop that, but they can be deterrents.
This is only the beginning of the decorations. There are a few more projects that will grace the table. I don't want to show everything now because there won't be any surprises for Saturday. So, with that, I think that's all for today's post. I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have. Designing this little shin-dig has been so much fun and I can't wait to see it all come together on Saturday.

Fiesta Decor- Part 2

Happy Tuesday! And, Happy May! We have another project to share with you for our fun fiesta for Saturday. These are just some of the decorations we've been working on for it. They are medallions/rosettes for the wall. They definitely help brighten up our bare walls. Maybe we'll have to keep them up for other holidays... As you can tell, there are three of them. I think these are more the colors you think of when you think "fiesta". The "ole!" one is probably my favorite!

Here they are, up close. The shadow on the "ole" is brown, to bring in the background color of the invitations. Don't you just hate when everything is going right, and then at the last minute, bam! Your project gets ruined? Luckily I was able to fix it, and it turned out well. The chili is all hand-cut. You can't really tell, except in a few spots. The cactus is a super-close second for my favorite (I'm aware, that out of three, there aren't too many choices, but oh well!) The shadowed look on the cactus really adds a nice touch to it, in my opinion! It looks really nice, until you see the teeth mark in it... I think they'll add a nice touch once everything is together.
