A Little Man is on His Way!

Good afternoon! We hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend, apart from the new snow back home. This has been a busy week here. I feel like I say that all the time... The days were spent at work and all of my free time was working on orders, party decorations, and shower gifts! I was fortunate enough to have three pretty large orders this week, including an order of 60 invitations and another of 30 party favors. I also started work on a (almost full-fledged) Spiderman birthday party. Today was also Sister's family shower, and fortunately, I had most of those decorations done beforehand. We went with a "Little Man" theme, and decided that the use of the Seahawks colors would include Dad in the decor.
There were a few more decorations, including matching invitations and centerpieces, but the pictures didn't come out nearly as good as I was hoping. Grr. Here is a picture of one of the banners I did make:
I plan on setting them up and taking more pictures this week, so I can also post them on Etsy soon. There was also a matching cake, which was just too cute (and delish!)
(As it has been pointed out, Baby's real name is not going to be 'Rocky'- it's a nickname that was picked up because of his initials. We wouldn't want to confuse the little guy!) In the little free time I had, I worked on some gifts for the family, which are absolutely adorable (don't mind if I toot my own horn...) The gifts were fabric projects, and let's just say that, although they are uber cute, I'm  definitely not even close to Aunt Debbie-level sewing skills. I'm just happy that all my pieces are sewn together and will hopefully stay that way! Here is one project I did get a picture of- it went over quite well in the sea of Hawks fans...
The back has the last name and a '15' for the year. I didn't get pictures of the other two projects, but they included a blanket and a nursing scarf (that would be super cute any time!) I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of time to take those, though! Only 2.5 weeks to go! Hopefully Grandma and Grandpa will make it out of the snow and get here in time!!I think it's time for a nap now, even though I should really take those pictures so I get them done. Oh well! Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Cute New Halloween Projects!

Good afternoon! We hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far! We are enjoying one of the last weekends of summer, hoping for fall to come along with its cooler weather and pumpkin flavors- both perfect for getting those creative juices flowing! While we have been busy with some finishing touches on classroom decor (which is super adorable and pictures will be shared once everything is complete!), we have found some time to add new items to our Etsy shop. Our newest listings are some Halloween party decor items we've created. This is the start of our newest line:
The first project we want to share is a party invitation featuring the cutest little witch and her cauldron. Of course we used a ton of pop dots on the embellishments! This party theme would be perfect for any little ghoul or boy! The next picture is of a matching banner:
This banner reads "Happy Birthday", but we also made one that says "Happy Halloween". Both banners feature the same little witchy teddy bear and her cauldron from the invitation. The last spacer has a cute little teddy, all ready to go trick or treating in his pumpkin best:
These little guys, and the letters, are also pop-dot embellished. We wanted to add a special touch to the letters with some rhinestones.
Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully we'll have some more items to share later!

An Elmo Birthday!

Good morning! We hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far. At least it's already Thursday! And a day closer to the weekend. We have been uber busy around here, with the start of the school looming and everyone having their kid's birthdays. We actually had little to do yesterday, so we took a little break. However, we wanted to share some of our newest projects with you. The first is some decor for an Elmo-themed party for twin 1-year olds (how cute?!) Unfortunately, some of the pictures have quite an orange tint to them...or at least the wall does...
The first project is a super cute and colorful 'Happy Birthday' banner:
The banner features Elmo holding the number 1and two presents on the end:
Of course we used pop-dots on the letters and images, and the polka dots add another cute touch!
The next item we made was a set of cake toppers. The first piece is Elmo, along with two Sesame Street-inspired name signs:
These three toppers are double-sided and are on 8" sticks. We added some ribbon to the name signs. The last thing we made were some goody bags for the kiddos:
These little cuties feature an excited Elmo, because who wouldn't be happy at a party?!
Thanks for stopping by. We'll have some more new projects to share with you this week.

A New Superhero Banner to Share

Happy Thursday! We hope everyone is having a wonderful day, and week so far. As you've might have noticed, we've been staying busy trying to primp up our Etsy shop. We're hoping that the more items we have for sale, the better chance it'll help us grow. So, our goal for this month is to post at least two new items every day. So, as many of our followers know, we've had a lot of interest in our superhero bags. We decided it was time to make some other superhero things (and hope it helps us!) For today, we have added two new banners. Since they are relatively similar in design, we'll show the first one, which is a superhero "Happy Birthday" banner:
This one features Boy's favorite superhero Batman (he also happens to be one of the easier ones to create!)
The first spacer is Batman, with his little cape and crime fighting outfit, and his googly eyes (of course!) The middle space features three matching stars, and the last is the city in distress (or in this case, Gotham, I guess). Each letter and image has been pop-dotted, for the extra special touch, while each piece is tied together with multiple ribbons and tulle.
The other banner was a personalized banner, in this theme. For superheroes, he's quite a cutie! We're going to create a few other heroes, especially because we've also created a little Superman superhero for a valued customer a few months ago:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

The Newest Items in Our Frozen-Inspired Party Collection!

Good morning! We hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday! We have been quite the busy beavers working on new projects to share/post/sell and hopefully all this work will pay off in the future. As you may have seen, our newest party decor is based on the movie "Frozen". There are a few more things we have to add to the collection, but we just wanted to share what is done so far:
Some of these were already posted here on our blog (like the invitation and thank you note) but we also added a few other items. The items here feature Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Cliff, a Love Troll. Clockwise from 12:00, we have a cake topper, some party favors, centerpiece sticks, the invitations and thank you notes, some name/place cards, matching cupcake wrappers, and the picks to match. We also have a few things with Sven, the reindeer, and Hans (even though he's not the nicest).
As we mentioned earlier, we added these items to our Etsy shop yesterday. Pretty sure that was the hardest (and probably least-fun) part of all of this... Oh well. Like we said, hope it's worth it and we can make something other than superheroes (not that we're complaining about it. Too much.) I guess now it's time to start on the next party- thinking of a fall owl/woodland party!
And, a big congratulations to our friends Annie and Tyler who have completed their cross-country bike journey! They are quite impressive!!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Relaxing in the Summer Sun, Just Letting off Steam!

Good afternoon! We hope you are having a wonderful week so far. It's been quite hot here- feeling like a snowman in the summer (hence the title!) So, how do we let of our steam? We craft, of course! No surprise there. But, we have a few new banners to share with you today. They go along with our new "Frozen"-inspired party decorations. The biggest one is our 'Happy Birthday' banner:
The banner is bookended with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, with Arendelle Castle in the middle. (For those of you who haven't seen the movie and have no idea what we're talking about, the movie is great, and should definitely be watched! It also makes winter seem a little closer on those hot days.)

We also made two other banners. We don't usually make all of these banners, but we wanted to add some listings to our Etsy shop. So, the first one we wanted to share was a high chair/"I am 1" banner and a personalized name banner:
Everyone's favorite snowman makes an appearance in the "I am 1" banner:
Each snowflake piece features a popped up image, either a character or letter. And of course, we added glitter with the writing and tulle, which is a little hard to see. We also added matching ribbons to hold the pieces together.
Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully we'll be able to post the rest of our complete "Frozen" projects tomorrow. And then we can go on with a new set! Have a fantastic day!

A 'Frozen"- Inspired Preview

Good afternoon! We hope everyone is having a great weekend! I hate to brag (most of the time!) but we are having a fantastic weekend! It has been warm (hot, according to the people here) and sunny and just absolutely beautiful. Not quite like the weather in the East. Hope everyone stays safe in these storms (especially those two awesome bike riders in Kentucky!)
Since it has been unseasonably warm here, it has put us in the mood for some cooler weather, and projects! We have been busy working on a new set of party decorations. It's not quite done, but here is a hint of what's to come:
We're quite excited for this set! The first project to be done will be a banner, as long as we can find the hole punch! It always seems to disappear when it's needed...We will post the pictures when it's done!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Fallidays!

Happy Sunday! Wow, it has been a long time since we posted something. As you might be able to tell, then, we have been quite the busy beavers recently. With school and work, and everything that goes with it, there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to sit down and work on the fun things (obviously meaning the crafting). Or, the "fun things" turn out to be a set of wedding invitations (for a lady in Australia, getting married in Spain, with family in the UK. OK, so it's awesome that someone from overseas has seen our stuff!) And of course, more party favors than I care to count... But this weekend, we found some time to create for fun. (Update: We just spent about four hours looking up Christmas projects. Is it November yet?!)
So, today's project is a cute little fall banner we made for our sister:
(It was a bit longer than planned, but I'm pretty sure the pieces were a bit wider than I first thought. I hope she has room for it somewhere!)
It's a little hard to read, but it says "happy fallidays". It is accented with two super adorable little scarecrows on either end:
And here is the spacer in between the two words:
We wanted to keep this one a little less crowded, mostly because of the background paper used. I think the best part of this banner is the use of non-traditional colors used. The background paper came from a fall paper stack that is full of blue, brown, and light yellow papers. To make it even more fun, we added some pink accents and ribbon (because pink makes everything better!)
Now to go make something with all of the extra orange paper this banner was supposed to use up. Or more party favors. Both have to be done eventually!!
Thanks for coming back to us after our little unplanned break! We hope you all have a superb end to the weekend!!

Whoo's Ready for 4th Grade?

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend. For most of us there won't be another one until October! On the bright side, that's only a month away :) But then again, we haven't actually started a new school year yet, so there shouldn't be anything to complain about, huh?! Anyway, as promised, we have another back-to-school classroom project. This is an apple tulle wreath we made this weekend:
OK, so it's supposed to be an apple. If we had to do it again, it would probably be made with a circle wreath form. But then again, it goes along with the "teaching is a work of heart" saying. So it works for this. Unfortunately, it had a little accident while we were making it:

The bright side? We realized that the two halves would make cute little candy canes for the upcoming holiday season. And we were able to put our broken heart back together will a little hot glue (which fixes almost everything!)
We decided to make the wreath because the door was in desperate need of some pizzazz. This is a view of the little "nameplate" on the wreath. It's not a great picture of the nameplate, but it's designed to look like a chalkboard (although there aren't many of those left!) Over the years, we've had so many people say our last name incorrect. Because of this, we realized that it's just like an owl's call, and tell the kids, "It's hoo, like an owl". It makes it easier for everyone. It is also the reason why we included the owls on yesterday's project. And, of course, he has little googly eyes, because they make everything better!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Fabulous Classroom Decor!

Good evening! Phew! It's been a super busy day today. We woke up early to get started on classroom decorating, and spent a good 10 hours there, which is why this post is so late. Or early. I guess it depends on when it's actually read... It will be adorable, once it's all set. (I'm such a good sister, spending my free time helping out, huh?!) Today's project is a quick little banner I made for Robyn's room.

We needed to throw something together for yesterday's meet-and-greet, to spruce it up a bit. (And to show off our creativity to parents. Birthday parties, anyone?!)
Each subject is represented on the banner. Some are cuter than others, including the school-pride banner on the 'C'. Others have special touches, including the US map (with both homes) and the town school bus on the end. And, of course, each piece has a little sparkle, although it might be a little hard to see on a few.
The school's mascot is the "Wolf Pup"- how cute is that?! They are also red and navy, so it worked out so nicely that we red paw print ribbon. And the black paper behind it is from the grade-school stack, which is perfect for any school-related project!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Some Boo-tacular Halloween Decor

Happy Wednesday! We hope everyone is having a great day, and everyone is as happy as a camel on hump day! We've been super busy, working on holiday projects, some new and some that were supposed to be done last year. Oops. Anyway, today's post is part of a new Halloween party we are working on. This is the centerpiece we designed:
There are four different pieces to the centerpiece. The haunted house is 9" high and the two little monsters are about 4" tall. (Googly eyes make everything better, unless they are very different in size. Granted, the size difference is in the design, but still.)
The little moon is probably my favorite! It's not really that small, but it's just so darn cute! And the little bat just adds even more cuteness to it!
Like we mentioned before, it's part of a party line we've been working on. We have a ton more projects to share coming up!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a superb day!

A Happy Boo to You!

Happy Sunday! We hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. We've been super busy this weekend. We spent yesterday working on a ton of projects that will *hopefully* be up soon. Anyway, today's project is a cute little Halloween banner.
It's a little hard to read, with the glare from the window, and the fact that it's pretty busy. It reads "Boo to You" (hence, the title of the post!) and it has a few little monsters on it. Here are two pictures of the banner, up close:
There are three little monsters that wouldn't be complete without their googly eyes. And each flower is handmade, which took a little (a lot) longer than it should. Trying to come up with a placement for the flowers. I tried to make a pattern, but it didn't work out quite right. Luckily, it came out well, in our opinion!
Thanks for stopping by today! We hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Easter Decor

Today's project is one of those "let me catch up on past seasons of tv shows" projects. It's a little time consuming, but definitely worth it!
We usually use Styrofoam wreath forms, but for this one, used a wire form. And about 3 rolls of tulle. We cut the tulle at 6 inches and knotted them around three of the rings on the form. You probably don't need to use that much, but I like the really full look. We then used some coordinating ribbon on the last ring. Finally, we knotted ribbon through the eggs and tied them around. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but it is one extra-poofy wreath. It takes up about half of our front door!

Thanks for stopping by!

Be Awesome!

Good evening! We hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. We're definitely looking forward to the weekend. It's been tough- a two-day work week. Well, today's project is a wall hanging we made for a bedroom. It is, in a way, a New Year's resolution, and a nice reminder to wake up to
How cute is that? It was finished tonight, but I definitely could have used it this morning. When a piece of pesto chicken flies into your first coffee of the day and then it takes 10 minutes to close your car doors (because the locks are frozen- which never happened before, even back home in Connecticut). Luckily the sunrise this morning was amazing and the day turned around!
This was actually made with a 16"x24" canvas and some paints. We saw a printable somewhere with this saying and thought this would be perfect in a bedroom. I chose the color to match my color-theme. The teal matches remarkably well, which was kind of surprising. It is a little hard to tell, but "awesome" glitters (the phone camera just didn't capture the sparkle as well)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Bell Still Rings

Happy Thursday! It is definitely one of those weeks that just crawls on by. It feels like it should be Friday. Almost there....
Today's projects are 'Polar Express'-themed party decorations we made. There are two of them. The first is a multi-use place-card holder.
These place cards are designed to look like bells. (They are actually cut from a cupcake box) The criss-crossing of the top worked out rather nicely, as they are positioned in just the right spot for the slits in the bell. They were added with black marker, but you can't see it in the picture. Since they are boxes, they open up and are perfect to give away as a little party favor. We added a real bell to the top, so when they were moved, they jingle! (And we're fully aware the 'd' is lower case. Capital 'd's are just ugly letters....)
Our second project today is another favor box:
These favors are a little bigger than the bells, measuring about 4x4x4" boxes. They were decorated to look like train cars. You can always add more riding cars to match the number of favors needed. The cars are lit up, just like in the movie. This would also serve as a cute centerpiece for a small gathering (too many and it might take up the whole table!)
Join us tomorrow for a sweet project that's perfect for young children to help with!

Jingle All the Way

We hope everyone is having a good morning. It seems as if this is going to be another slow week. It feels like it should be at least Wednesday. Although who can complain when you get to watch 'Toy Story' and 'Finding Nemo' all day?! Hopefully everyone else's day will be just as good!
For today's project, we have a craft that would cheer up any space. These 'wreaths' can be found at any craft store, but we made this one on the cheap- $6.00 for the entire thing.
In order to make this, all we used was some jewelry wire we had hanging around. Ours is the size of a large coffee can, but you can make it any size you want. We recommend using thick wire (or even a metal coat hanger, if you have any more of those) so the shape stays better. Ours was kind of thin, so the small size worked well. Then, all you take are some jingle bells and string them onto the wire. (The bells are on sale this week at Micheal's, for like $2.99) We used two different sizes, but you can pretty much design it however you want. Once they're all strung, you can form the wire into the shape you want and wa-la! A quick project. We added a little bell in the middle, tied with a cute gold bow!
In 'The Polar Express' if you believe in the magic of the holiday, you can hear the bell jingle. There is no way you can't hear these bells jingle!
This would be a quick little gift for a holiday grab bag, maybe, or something to make and give to yourself!

Warm Wishes and...

Frosty Kisses! Happy Tuesday, everyone! We hope you are all having a superb week so far. We have a fun project to share with you today. It is a little banner we made to go with this week's Winter Woodland theme.
The picture is a little light, but is says "frosty kisses", hence the title of the post! We used pale green and blue paper, along with matching decorative prints. The color scheme is perfect for winter projects. The next two pictures show close-ups of the words:
(You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.) It's a little hard to see, if at all, but the letters were outlined with some more buffalo snow. The next two pictures show the snowflakes and the center space.

The snowflakes on the end are folded to look 3D and are accented with some more 'snow'. They came out better than planned- they were a little hard to fold down the middle. And the last picture is the center space, which is decorated with a cute little snow couple. We used the same colors and paper for their accessories, and of course, some more snow. It's a little hard to tell, but the snow is behind them.
It would be a cute addition to winter couple pictures! Thanks for stopping by!
